Club Committee Members

Club President: Gerard Casale
Gerard joined speakers a few years ago and has worked his way from a nervous beginner to the exalted position of being Club President, holder of the MasterPiece award and champion of the yellow ducks. (ask him about this!). Bringing a selection of new ideas, generous energy and strong commitment to the best club in the District, we welcome Gerard and even made him an honorary Englishman. The club is in good hands for 2008-9
Past Club President: Margot Elder
A seductive smile, the wink of encouragement, and the gift of the gab made Margot an ideal president. Throughout the last season, Margot ensured that the club continued to grow, and that everyone enjoyed the speaking as well as the social side of our little community. Margot encourages everyone to have a go and achieve their own personal goals. Margot will be concentrating on supporting Gerard this year and continuing her path to the masterpiece that is surely within her grasp.
Vice President: Ian Price
Despite the inability to recall names, Ian certainly adds bulk to the club. His ability to put most people at ease can mean you suddenly find you are offering to do a speech before you realise it. Offering his support to anyone who wants to wear it, Ian demonstrates the casual approach to informal speaking by preferring impromptu offerings. As District Vice President he supports other clubs and Nationally has written and developed the guidelines for all ASC clubs to use and evaluate Powerpoint.
Club Treasurer & Secretary: Anna Jackman
As a new speaker Anna is has demonstrated that fear is merely panic without enthusiasm. The battle with nerves is ongoing, but her determination to win through has won her many friends. Each and every meeting finds Anna developing her skills, trying new things and enjoying the challenges of speaking in public.
Vice Treasurer: Frank Forster
Master of the prepared speech, Frank is an artist in many arenas. As a sculptor, a word-smith and in the bar. His ability to spin a yarn into a fascinating vocal journey is the stuff of leg ends. Opps.. legends. Frank's passion is contagious, his smile infectious and his stories outrageous. Come and enjoy listening to a master of the craft.
Member: Ray Martin
Ray has the dubious responsibility as the elder statesman of trying to keep order amongst the committee. A veteran of the speaking world, Ray often combines his speaking with photography to give us an insight into different worlds, be it Romania or Croydon.Ray is also experimenting with PowerPoint and proving how effective it can be to support a speech.
Member: Sana Namazie
We welcome Sana to the committee for 2008-9. From her first visit to us, Sana has always joined in, helped out and been one of the team. it was only right and proper to welcome her to the committee and make use of her enthusiasm and energy. Still learning the art of speaking, Sana is an inspiration for new speakers and her supportive nature will make sure everyone feels at home - just as she always has.
